The Brazos Valley Veterans Memorial board of directors will dedicate two new statues sculpted by local artist J. Payne Lara. One statue depicts a Union Army soldier and the other a Confederate States Army soldier. Features of the event include a keynote address by T. Michael Parrish, professor of American History at Baylor University; a performance by the Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra; and a rifle salute, with a special performance by the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band Bugler
