LOCAL FEATURE: WHISKEY CAKE in PLANO TEXAS!
We know how hard it can be to launch a successful local Plano business, but Whiskey Cake Kitchen and Bar, a local restaurant, makes becoming wildly popular look effortless. In addition to having some of the best food in Texas, they are extremely environmentally conscious, and they employ a farm to table mentality. From having a backyard herb garden and local honey, to using solar power and offering complimentary electric car chargers, everything about Whiskey Cake oozes locality and care.
Their namesake, a delicious whiskey cake with notes of toffee, pecans, and bourbon, is so in demand that they started selling entire cakes in addition to slices! It is complimented by a delicious selection of mixed drinks, and over 150 kinds of whiskey to choose from. Other in demand offerings include adult mac n cheese, their infamous OMG! burger, and goat cheese fondue. Their food is fresh, locally sourced, cooked to perfection, and delicious! No flavorless fried bar fare here.
The ambiance is warm, despite the rustic industrial décor. The exposed bulbs and rugged interior (complete with wait staff sporting suspenders and leather aprons) is offset by comfy vintage furniture and a fireplace on the patio. Be sure to arrive early if you’re stopping by for their brunch – it’s so popular there’s usually a wait, but it’s well worth it. Their “Little Pink Drink” is light and refreshing, and the chicken and waffles is a hit. It’s also a great place to take the kids, with an affordable kids menu, and a good balance of grown up and family friendly atmosphere, so if the babysitter cancels, you can still make the most out of your date night.
The prices are reasonable, especially considering that everything is locally sourced. Check their website to stay up to date on new specials and events, like their Girls Wine Wednesdays, where ladies get half off all glasses and bottles of wine, or their weekly whiskey classes on Tuesdays. If you come for one thing though, be sure to try what they’re named after – delicious whiskey cake topped with fluffy, made from scratch whipped cream. Amazing.
So, if you’re looking for a great local business to stop in for brunch, this is the place. Your local Plano movers might just be there (if it’s their day off!) enjoying some fresh, made from scratch chicken and waffles. And, if you’re new to town, be sure to put this on your list of local places to stop by and support. When you support your local Plano community, you’re supporting your neighbors and friends.
